Tyler Chin-Tanner

From his early career in teaching and humanitarian aid work, Tyler Chin-Tanner took the leap into his lifelong passion for comics, attending The Joe Kubert School from 2003 to 2006 and co-founding AWBW with his wife Wendy in 2005. Publishing through AWBW, Tyler writes graphic novels including the New York Times featured "American Terrorist," the Mesoamerican fantasy epic “Mezo,” and the YA series “The Orphan King.” He’s also edited several anthologies including the Ringo Award nominated anthologies “All We Ever Wanted” and “Dead Beats” as well as producing the GLAAD Media and Ringo Award winning anthology “Young Men in Love.”

Wendy Chin-Tanner

Wendy Chin-Tanner founded AWBW with her husband Tyler in 2005. She is the author of the critically acclaimed novel "King of the Armadillos," which won the 2025 Louisiana Literary Award, and the poetry collections "Turn" and "Anyone Will Tell You." She is also the editor of "Embodied: An Intersectional Comics Poetry Anthology" and co-author of "American Terrorist." Born and raised in NYC and educated at Cambridge University, UK, she brings her decades of experience in literature and sociology to comics.
